It is located within the Ravenscourt Park ward of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The 9-storey building, designed by architect R.J. Hugh Minty, was completed in 1935 and replaced one or more large Victorian villas or houses that were typical of the area before the push for higher-density housing in the inter-war period.

The mansion block style brick construction has stone detailing and retains its original Crittall windows. This styling which contributes significantly to the appearance of the building is recognised as an iconic landmark in the Westcroft Square Conservation Area.
